Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal Chemistry:

The application of chemical research techniques to the synthesis of pharmaceuticals is known as Medicinal Chemistry. It is the study of chemistry, biochemical effects and different aspects of drugs to for the treatment of diseases.

Developing new pharmaceutical drug requires a long development and research process. Medicinal chemists must first discover the chemical compound that they are looking for by illustrating upon extensive chemical and scientific knowledge. Aside from desired chemical compounds, chemists can also examine certain plants, animals, and fungi to find the qualities that they are seeking.

Medicinal Chemists:

Medicinal chemists work in universities, corporate labs, drug and medical sectors and hospitals. They possess strong systematic and clinical expertise in determining possible curative and preventative drugs for diseases such as cancer, AIDS, liver disease, and even the common cold.

Computer Aided Drug designing:

Drug is any chemical that, when taken that  ability to change the way a person think, feels, or behaves. Alcohol, aspirin and nicotine are the drugs, in which they can pass from your body into your brain.

Modern drug discovery is recognized by the production of thousands of substances and the need to analyze these huge collections in short periods of times. The need to store, manage and evaluate these rapidly increasing resources has given rise to the field known as computer-aided drug design (CADD).

Computer Aided Drug designing (CADD) represents computational methods and sources that are used to accomplish the style and discovery of new therapeutic solutions. Digital repositories, containing information on drugs and other useful substances, are goldmines for the study of chemical reactions abilities. Design collections, with the potential to produce molecular variants in their whole, allow the selection and testing of chemical compounds with different features.

OMICS Group is delighted to invite you to attend the 2nd International Conference on Medicinal Chemistry & Computer Aided Drug Designing, which is to be held on October 15-17, 2013 at Las Vegas, USA.
