Traditional & Alternative Medicine


Traditional medicine:

Traditional medicine, as we generally know contains modern health technology, medical technology, surgery and associated practices. Traditional medicinal practices include a wide range of therapies and methods which vary from country to country and region to region. In some countries, it is termed as "alternative" or "complementary" medication (CAM).

It is also known as allopathic or Western medicine, in which it is more drug and surgery oriented. The recent trends in healthcare today is the complementary use of both traditional and alternative medicine. Traditional medicine, commonly known to includes modern health technology, medical technology, and surgery and associated methods. 

Traditional strategy focuses on the cause of ailment. It specializes in factors resulting the disease, its prevention, solutions and deals with the abnormality as an independent entity. The person affected the environment or the conditions under which the disease occurred is unimportant in this system. It is restricted to the scientific study of an abnormality and ways to eliminate it.

Alternative Medicine:


Alternative medicine is the collection of all the knowledge, skills and methods based on age-old concepts or experiences. It comprises a wide range of procedures native to different cultures around the world. 

                Alternative science is a combination of all the unconventional practices which are used to prevent, diagnose, improve and cure any form of illness. The most popular types of alternative medicine are Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Yoga, Aromatherapy, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Acupressure.

There are more than 100 techniques of alternative medicines still in practice all over the world. In general, alternative medicine has focused on a systems approach.  Every nation, region or area has its own traditional system of health and medical care’s such as for the China it is acupuncture, for the French, magnetic healing  for the Germans.
